What We Put On Our Families' Skin

When looking at what we put on our families' skin, is ‘natural’ always safe?

The short answer is 'no, not always'. There are so many products out there that are marketed to us as being gentle, natural, kind and safe for our little ones, and we trust that. We want what’s best for our little ones.

I’m a mum of 3 lively boys, busy is an understatement when it comes to ‘life’ I know you all know what I mean. I have my finger in lots of pies, I am interested in lots of things, and I guess that’s my makeup, I’m happy about that, others think I’m mad! Which I think is probably true too. I care about my family, but I also care about the impact our actions and choices have on our environment. Sometimes you have to just take minute to sit back and think about things. A small change counts, it makes a difference.

That’s what I did about a year ago, and it happened by chance (or fate) that I was introduced to Tropic Skincare. Tropic is an awarding winning, cruelty free, vegan, 100% natural derived skin care range, suitable not only for my skin, but my families skin too. Always free from chemicals, parabens, synthetic fragrances.

Freshly made to order in the UK, all ingredients listed in plain English, delivery is carbon neutral, with all product packaging recyclable, and some refills available (more to come). Pure, honest and effective. I feel in love with everything about it.

I thought that the choices I had been making were ok, what I was using to wash my children, to make fun bubble baths, to protect them from the harmful rays of the sun, were natural and safe.

Looking deeper into what was actually in these products was shocking, out of choice I wouldn’t have dreamt of exposing them to these ingredients. How were these legal? How were these ok to expose to our skin, to our children’s skin, and the devastating impact they had on our environment?  This can change though, and is changing, and I want to be part of that change. I want to be part of something that stands for creating a healthier, cleaner, greener more empowered world. #GreenBeautyRevolution

My journey now is to share these amazing products with everyone, to give people the option to try something that is 100% safe, and affordable. To help you make informed choices, to have fun making those discoveries. Products that can really help those skin allergies (eczema, psoriosus, stretch marks, scars) and flare ups. Those nappy rashes, sore breastfeeding nipples, bites, cuts and grazes. To be able to shower and bath without irritation. To apply sunscreen that provides UVA and UVB protection that’s chemical free and safe for babies. And not forgetting about us mums that deserve to have 5 mins to look after our own skin, give ourselves that piece of time for you. As a side note men love all the products too, just ask my husband!
